Ballet Manila principal dancer, Rudy de Dios, reprises his role as the late Senator Benigno Aquino Sr. in the repeat performances of Martin Lawrance’s “Rebel : EDSA 30”, an original ballet that is an amalgam of “Spartacus” and the events that lead to the 1986 EDSA Revolution. Rudy reflects on that time of our country’s history and the challenge of portraying one of its principal players.
“Rebel : EDSA 30” is the opening salvo of “Revenge of the Classics : The 21st Performance Season”. Shows are on August 19, 20, 27 at 8:00 p.m. and August 21 & 28 at 3:00 p.m.
Special appearance by prima ballerina Lisa Macuja Elizalde and live orchestra accompaniment by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Gerard Salonga on August 19, 20, and 21. Appearing in all performances is internationally acclaimed theater actress Joanna Ampil.
