Lisa Macuja Elizalde

Lisa Macuja-Elizalde is undoubtedly the most phenomenal ballerina the country has ever produced. Her career is best summed up by these numbers: 28 years of dancing the lead in over 300 full-length ballets, performed in 90 cities that span five continents around the globe.

Macuja-Elizalde started ballet at the age of eight under Felicitas Radaic at the St. Theresa College School of Dance, where she became a member of Dance Theater Philippines.

In 1982, she received a scholarship from the USSR Ministry of Culture to study at the Leningrad Choreographic Institute (now the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet) in Saint Petersburg under the tutelage of Tatiana Alexandrovna Udalenkova.

Osias Barroso, Jr.

Co-Artistic Director & Ballet Master

After a long and prolific career as one of the country’s finest principal danseurs, Osias Barroso continues to share his exceptional talents as one of Ballet Manila’s outstanding mentors.

Hailed as a ballerina’s prince, he performed the lead roles in both local and international productions of major full-length ballets. To date, he is the only Filipino danseur to have performed Don Quixote and Giselle in Russia, opposite prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde whom he partnered for 16 years.

Eileen Lopez

Level 1A / 2A

A pioneering member of Ballet Manila, Eileen is the company and School’s rehearsal mistress. She completed the regular BM method training programs conducted by guest teachers Tatiana A. Udalenkova of the Academy of Russian Ballet and People’s Artist of Russian Sergey Vikulov between 1998 and 2001 to 2004.

She has an extensive repertoire in classical productions such as Le Corsaire (Trio), Carmen (Manuela), Giselle (Myrtha), The Nutcracker (Spanish), La Bayadere (Shades, Trio, Pas d’Action), Swan Lake (Big Swan, Spanish and Mazurka Dance), Romeo and Juliet (The Nurse), Don Quixote (Mercedes, Kitri’s Friend, Gypsy Girl).
She has also performed in many of the company’s premiere neo-classical, modern and Filipino choreographies.

Eileen has toured with Ballet Manila in several Russian Cities and the US.

Eileen has also coached students who have joined the CCP National Ballet Competition and the Asian Grand Prix, both in the regionals in Manila and the finals in Hong Kong, since 2017.

Sofia Sangco – Peralta

Level 1A / Level 2 / Level 3

Sofia trained with Julie Borromeo’s Dance Arts School and the Vella Damian School of Ballet prior to joining Ballet Manila in 1997. She has completed the special Vaganova Method Master Class Program conducted by visiting teacher Tatiana A. Udalenkova of the Academy of Russian Ballet (Vaganova Choreographic Institute) from 1999 to 2003.

Her repertoire includes lead and featured roles in the company’s classical, neo-classical, contemporary, Filipino and modern productions. Sofia was also part of the Ballet Manila’s tours and festival participation in US, Russia, Scotland, South Korea, United Kingdom, Ireland and Macau. She also represented the school in the 2016 Beijing Dance Academy’s Dance School Performing Series.

Robert Peralta

Level 1B / Level 2B / Adult
Ballet Advanced

Robert joined Ballet Manila in April 2009 and has been recognized for his past noteworthy roles in Aramica, Bloom, Reconfigured, Arnis, Sayaw sa Pamlang and Dancing with Verdi.

He’s been recognized as Finalist in the 1st CCP National Ballet Company in 2014 and bagged Sixth Place for Senior Male Division in Asian Grand Prix 2015.

Karen Neri

Creative Movement / Twinkle Toes / Level 1B / Adult Ballet

Karen started as a Ballet Manila (PBF) scholar in 2008. She underwent rigorous training under the Vaganova Method. She has been part of some company productions like Tatlong Kwento ni Lola Basyang, Alamat ni Sibol at Si Gunaw, Lisa @25, Kutitap, Nutcraker, Swan Lake.
