They just have to keep on dancing! Ballet Manila artists love their craft so much that even when they’re away from the stage, they end up busting a move, trying out some steps or at least striking a ballet pose or two.
Performing Annabelle Ochoa’s Bloom for the 2015 Silk Road Cultural Festival in Gyeongju, Korea to a packed theater of 2000 seats was undoubtedly a nerve-wracking experience. So when the dancing duties were completed, Ballet Manila’s Romeo Peralta let loose with an epic leap for the company’s resident paparazzi and fellow dancer Geri Francisco. Back arched to a near-impossible angle, hands outstretched, and face turned to the warm sunshine, it was certainly a fitting celebratory gesture of a company flying high.
